In the midst of overwhelming emotions flooding in from the global fandom, J. K. Rowling declared that the magical saga that still continues to feed magical imaginations and rule over millions of hearts across the globe has now come to its end. Although not much of an actual surprise, the news came as a brutal realization that the boy who lived will now only live in our hearts, as a golden childhood memory that spanned over for more than a decade.
After the release of the 8th book of the potter series, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ it was taken as obvious that now that the wizard world had been saved from the curse of the dark lord and that the prophecy of Trelawney had come true and that the boy who was to live would continue to live, the global fandom accepted it as the logical end to their beloved magical series. However, it came as a good surprise when after a whole decade; J. K. Rowling came up with yet another book of the Harry Potter series, and right when the Potterheads were all drowned deep into this happiness, that they came to know that the writer has finally set aside the pen, as she scribed the last words of the legendary series.
“He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” Rowling declared in a public press statement on the premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. “This is the next generation, you know. So I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”
It did not actually surprise Joanne K., the response she received on the book launch. Launching parties were held across the globe, where the muggle born wizards received their Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, something they had been waiting for all their lives. Rowling reciprocated the love calling it the most extra ordinary fandom that would last forever.
The fans took it as an undeclared contest to ensure that they take the lead in expressing their love, by making appearances imitating their favorite wizard characters. The book broke all previous first day sale records, setting new milestones that would take a lot for fresh fiction incomings to break.
However, this end might get dragged a bit long (good for all HP fanatics), for a pin-off from J. K. Rowling’s camp is all set to hit the cinema screens in December 2016. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is not exactly a sequel to the Harry Potter Series, nor does it entail anything about the boy with the scar. The storyline is punctuated with the stories of beasts and magical creatures found in harry potter’s magical universe.
All good things must come to an end, or else they lose their charm. Harry Potter will forever be alive in hearts, fueling our imaginations, making us believe that there is a secret world out there where magic happens for real.
